Question:

I’m overwhelmed by the various air travel WEB sites.  Which one do you suggest I use to gain quick air-travel information for possible trips?   I want to input origin-destination-dates and get back carriers, and times (cost would be good too). What site do you suggest? Jim — Jim Brewer                       Austin, TX

At inflated prices.  I have yet to locate something at even the same price as my local travel agent.

To be honest with you, I haven’t used any of them personally. I stick with EASYSABRE which I access through CompuServe. I’ve heard good things about Travelocity, though. >I want to input origin-destination-dates and get back carriers, and >times (cost would be good too). >What site do you suggest?

Try Travelocity and see if it meets your needs. If it doesn’t, then head to the search engines and see if there’s another one that is better. I usually just use on-line travel resources to get schedule and fare information. I still prefer to book the actual flight over the phone – not because I’m scared by credit card number will fall into someone else’s hands. It’s because a live person (either an airline rep or travel agent) can work with you to use all the available parameters to get you the cheapest fare possible.
