Air Travel » Air Travel Flight » CNN on the Alaska incident
Question:
> Don’t you think you’re being a little nit picky in your post though? > Ground, floor, whatever. Doesn’t change the facts.
Sucks, doesn’t it? It’s really interesting when your same argumentative style is reflected back at you.
Response:
I, for one, have always welcomed your participation on this newsgroup, as there have been many times where you’ve offered very useful commentary on various aspects of air travel. Unless you’ve followed the entire WebTV discussion, you wouldn’t have seen that many of us have said that not all WebTV users are "uneducated." It’s just that a noticeable proportion of WebTV users who are not regulars here post in a fashion that indicates little intelligence and a lack of Usenet form. And I can think of a few myself who are regulars that fall within this category. You’re not one of them. Don’t you think you’re being a little nit picky in your post though? Ground, floor, whatever. Doesn’t change the facts. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I was hoping someone else caught the CNN report on the fight aboard the > Alaska flight but since no one did this poor uneducated WEB TV user will > have to do it. > CNN noted, in all seriousness, that the passengers who went to the aid > of the pilot "wrestled the passenger to the ground" I know that is not > what they meant but it would have certainly been interesting to see them > accomplish that feat. > BTW I have a question for all the computer experts. I was hoping someone else caught the CNN report on the fight aboard the Alaska flight but since no one did this poor uneducated WEB TV user will have to do it. CNN noted, in all seriousness, that the passengers who went to the aid of the pilot "wrestled the passenger to the ground" I know that is not what they meant but it would have certainly been interesting to see them accomplish that feat. BTW I have a question for all the computer experts. Is there such a thing as a homonym checker? A program that when activated would look for homonyms in the text, display a brief definition of what each of the spelling variations means and ask the user if he/she wants to use the spelling originally typed or pick another that is more correct in the context. I have learned the hard way that it is generally not a good idea to point out someone else’s grammatical or spelling errors and especially not wise when one’s email address contains the words WEB TV! George, who lives in a nice condo rather than a trailer park and who much prefers Antonio Vivaldi to Garth Brooks
