Air Travel » Air Travel Flight » China-air info wanted

Question:

Hi Is anybody out there that feels comfortable giving me a helplessly subjective account on the safety situation of internal China air travel? Considering that I want to go from Canton to Lhasar. That’s not only quite a distance to travel by bus and train but also would cost me a lot of nerves, time and wouldn’t be considered save by "western" standards. Is it even in this context not a good idea to take a flight? Thanks a lot for any information in advance. If you are going to Lhasa, then you don’t have much of an alternative. It’s not served by trains, and it could take a week+ on poor roads over high passes, which means the risk isn’t that small either. T A small soothing thought is that *perhaps* due to the special terrain and political considerations, the airline *may* have the more experienced pilots and newer planes for the route. — -Raymond Kwan
